Genting Trip

Dear friends,

Those of you whom have missed me these past week (which I take it upon all of you have)...
Yes! I went on a short trip to Genting.
It's my first time there.
I have always know Genting as a up high mountain and can only see fog.
Well, it's more then meets the eye.

The journey takes about 7 hours... of course in between there are 3 stops during the bus ride.
Out of the few hotels there, I stayed at the colourful one - First World Hotel.
I had a great, nice and enjoyable time there.
The weather is great.

Besides taking the rides at the theme park, I added a bit of spare tyre to my waist.
The food is tasty especially the 'Ah Yi Bao Yu Dim Sum' and 'Tze Cha from the Mushroom Farm'.
Malaysia's own version of KFC - 'Marrybrown' is not bad.
But their service level really needs alot of improvement.
Believe me, with my level of endurance and patience - when I get pissed off by their service standards; I rrreeeaaalllyyy got PISSED OFF!
At one point, I got up to serve myself rather than wait for them to serve me!

Anyway, overall... it's fun.
I took a ride on my all time favourite - Carousel.
And the Boating which 2 people have to pedal to manoevoure the 'boat'.
Also the Antique Car, I would love to own a car like that.
People who know me well should know that I'm afraid of heights.
I took on a 360 degrees of Dumbo and Aeroplane.
That's quite a big step for me... the 'Dare' challenge.

Oh! I need to mention 'The Mushroom Farm' - which is just 10 miuntes walk from the hotel.
Just a note: it's up and down the hill.
A good exercise after a heavy meal.
The food served in that restaurant is typical cantonese style.
From the start of taking order for which they have NO menu at all to the serving of tea cups and utensils on a small bowl filled with hot water to kill the bacteria.
One of the dishes I've ordered is the Steamed Cod Fish, that is so fantastic, delicious and tasty.
It's a very satisfying meal = very bulging tummy.

Ok friends, take a trip there if you have a chance.
It's a great getaway especially with the big hot sun at this time of the year.

Pay my Respects

This is my 2nd time visiting my eldest uncle's grave.
I still remembered when I went last year.
My heart aches when I stood before the grave.

Last year, my aunt drove us there (Choa Chu Kang Cemetary) at the late sunny morning.
We had a hard time finding the number of his grave as my grandma said the year before there aren't as many graves yet.
The first year I didn't go as I was working.
Finally, we found after some time.
I felt something in my heart as I looked upon it.
Emotions whelming up and around...

My grandma was rumbling about the condition of the place and when her hand touched his picture, her face expression changed.
She said 'Time flies, it has been 2 years.'
Her tears came flowing down continously.
It's sad.
My mum tried to console her but ended up crying with my grandma.
I felt tears around my eyes.
I tried to control.
Only my sis and aunt were calm.

I still remembered him during the last months of his life.
He kept in close contact with my mum and seen him quite often back then.
Though I didn't talk much to him but he always smiles and acknowledged my greetings to him.
On the day he passed away, I went to visit him with my mum.
But he went to toilet at that time and my mum asked me to go home first.
When I was home, some time later my mum called to said he has passed away.

This year, we went on a wet and sunny early afternoon.
Again, another year has passed.
It's been 3 years since he died.
More and more graves I saw.
This year though we have heavy feelings but not as before.
My grandma said it's good that he left as he was suffering from alot of pain from his illness.
He is in good hands now and I'm sure he is happy.

Till next year then Uncle.
I'll visit and pay my respects to you.

Indispensible?

Today I got into abit of argument with my GM.
She wants me to do an assignment.
Why me?
Because I did before and was in it for over 6 months.
Sigh! She couldn't find another suitable person to do and I can't give her a name who can do it so... it's ME!
I asked what if I'm not around during this period?
How?
She couldn't answer...

Am I so indispensible?
It's good and bad.
Good - the company needs/values me.
Bad - I can't get away with it.

High Blood?

Maybe it's the hot sun, that kinda' make my blood pressure shot up.
I haven't been in this mood for quite a while ... I think since the stickering issue.
And let's see, it's just recently.

Oh well!
People said my standards too high.
Not everyone can meet or catch up.
Well, then they better wake up.
I'm not that patient when it comes to certain things.
Or shall I say, I'm very particular in some things too.

Anyway, I gave a wake up call.
Either do it or I don't give face.
And don't say I never give chance.
When I come to this level, it could only mean the consequences of suffering from high blood.

See No Evil; Hear No Evil; Speak No Evil vs Act Blur; Act Stupid

Sometimes it's better:-
Not to know then knew.
Not to care than cared.
Not to listen than heard.
Not to say than said.
Not to see than saw.

Sometimes it's good not to be bother by anything at all.
It's actually a bliss.
Do thank God for that.
It does comes in handy in this world.

However, if already -
knew or
cared or
heard or
said or
saw...
then it's best to 'huh!'

Did a check in my dictionary:-
Huh! = Act Blur; Act Stupid!

Running or Tumbling?

Just the other day I went to the library.
Haven't been to it for quite a while.
I'm not there to borrow storybooks, I was there to look for business books or rather books related to 'Performance Goals' and 'Performance Review'!
For what?
To write appraisals for my staff...
Never have I thought I will be doing this in my working life.
I always thought I work for me, myself and I.
But now I have people reporting to me and 'I' and I mean 'ME'; have to do for my staff.
Oh well!

That's not mainly my point.
You see, the story goes...
I alighted the bus and saw my sister who already alighted from the opposite side and walking up the stairs.
Me at the other side suddenly feel like calling out to her.
Don't know why when you see family or friends, you will want to catch hold of them.
Maybe it's just only people you like and want to get their attention then you will have such natural reaction.
Otherwise, who cares or just pretend never see.

Anyway, the anxious me quickly took out my handphone to call her.
As much as I knew she will be blasting on her ipod nano but I still called anyway which leads me to the dead ringing tone and the operator at the other end saying 'The subscriber is not available at the moment, please leave a message after the tone.'
Like as if I need to as I will talk to my sister in about 5 minutes later at home.
Which is exactly why do I do such a thing when I eventually knew the outcome!
Do what you may ask?
Please continue reading...

Since my sis can't feel the vibrating of her handphone, I ran after her.
Those of you haven't seen my sis, ehh... she's much taller than me and it explains her longer legs with bigger steps.
As for me, smaller in size and shorter legs with smaller steps + haven't been exercising since 14 years ago = ......
I ran across the road (thought I will see her... nope), I ran up the stairs (thought I will see her... nope), across the carpark (thought I will see her... nope), up the pathway with minimal steps (thought I will see her... nope) and finally the already panting me managed to catch up with her.
My sis stopped.
Hhmm... my sis didn't actually stopped to wait.
She stopped because she felt the 'tumbling' sound from behind and turned to see what's coming.
And that's me!

I panted like nobody business even after I reached home.
My sis looked at me afterthat and laughed.
She asked, 'Why did you run when we will eventually reached home one after another?'
I looked at her for 3 seconds and 'Ya, why huh?'
Made myself feel tired and worn out.

Now thinking back, my running did became tumbling after all!

Stickering

Stickering

I think it only happens when you are a child but subconsciously... its in everyone of all ages.
You can see people sticker everywhere, e.g. at the back of bus seats, door, lockers, handphones, etc... basically on things that they wanted attention to be.

Well, for the past few days consecutively, I've been 'troubled' by this stickering matter.
How do you want everything to be stickered when the lifespan of it is unpredictable?
Everything has its peak and value.
Ups and downs... date due, overdue, expiry date!

At some point, I have this thought I was being bottleneck by this sticker thing.
Every morning, I hear 'Sticker, sticker... where is the sticker?' ringing in my ears.

Maybe in time to come, while many other things surface to sight.
People will be 'awaken' that stickering is just one of the tiny tiniest thing on earth.
We can look at it when it's at its prime and occasionally as and when it has to be and not entirely all the time.

Stripes

Stripes

Not sure of when i'm into stripes.
I don't mean 'ZEBRA'!
I meant t-shirts with stripes pattern.
Perhaps it's all began when I started wearing coloured, patterned and designed socks.

In case no one notices, currently I have about 16 pairs of 'coloured, patterned and designed' socks from Topshop bought during the past 6 months.
Previously were just normal coloured and patterned socks only which were about 20 pairs bought from shops like Espirit and eh... and eh...
Well, I have forgotten already.
Anyway, I'm not wearing these 20 pairs at the moment.
They were placed in a plastic bag stuffed away at some corner in my falling down wardrobe.
So, basically my taste for stripes derived from there as I have quite a number of socks with stripes design!

Ok, back to what I wanted to say...
My first stripes tee was from 'Pull and Bear' @ Vivocity - a green one.
I like it very much.
It was chosen by a dear friend of mine whose favourite colour is green.
I tried it on and it seems like the tee was telling me to buy it as it's so 'ME'.

My second stripes tee was from 'Bathing Ape' aka 'Bape' in Japan - a pink one.
My sister saw it from the Bathing Ape website and we felt that it was calling out to me to buy it so I brought it back from my recent Japan trip.

My third stripes tee was from 'Muji' in Japan - a black with gray stripes or a gray with black stripes... whichever!
Anyway, my mum saw it and said it's nice and suits me.
So, it went into my mum's shopping basket.

My fourth stripes tee was bought today from 'Pull and Bear' @ Vivocity - a purple with gray stripes or a gray with purple stripes... whichever...
I was hovering around the 4 various colour stripes tees and my sister turned to see me looking at it.
The next thing she said was, the nicest of all is the one with purple stripes.
And so, it went to the cashier counter next.

Anyway, if anyone of you wants to see.
Kindly make a date with me.
Of course, I can't possibly wear tees to work so have to wait till my off days to schedule time with me.
But then again... must see if I'm available or not.
I'm tied up with myself who is always so lazy, my tee wee (TV) which is always attracting me with programmes to watch and not forgetting my bed which is always pulling me down to it.
