it's my 1st time taking a budget airline - jetstar coz it's really budget.
no first class, business class or economy class.
it's just one class for all.
no food or drinks provided, if you want; have to purchase from the flight attendents.
yes, a can drink cost S$3/- and a plate of rice/noodle is S$10/-.
you can choose your own seat/s online when booking.
the whole trip; air tixs and hotel (4-star) cost about $330.
duration of flight was about 3hrs 20 mins.
from 'light' to 'dark'.

i went macau last august with my mum and sis so the place is rather fresh in my mind.
i can walk around with/without a map from time to time.
however, this time, i explored more places and even went to taipa.
upon reaching macau airport, it's already 7plus in the evening.
in macau, they have shorter day so the sun sets around 6pm.
by 6.30pm, it's already like 8 or 9pm.
i cab-ed down to the hotel and checked in fast coz my tummy is calling me.
i went to eat at the same restaurant when i came the previous time.
why?
it's near the hotel.
it's offers big portion.
very tasty, pork cutlet fried rice!
the night is still young in macau.
it's when the lights and fun begins.
almost 80% of the casinos in macau are owned by the 'gambling king' - stanley ho.
the one in the pic is one of the biggest hotel cum casino owned by him.
it's called the grand lisboa located in the central of the island just next to the bank of china building.
i went to the grandest hotel in macau island - wynns.
it's from the casino organization from las vegas.
i was here previously and the sight of it (interior or exterior) is still so fresh in my mind.
maybe coz it's one of the best i've ever seen till now.
it has this big water fountain where it moves according to the music.
the show commences every 15 mins through the night.
it just makes you go 'wwwaaaahhhhh'!
up next is another show inside the hotel/casino/shopping mall.
this time it's no longer 'tree of golden leaves', it's the 'dragon of the lotus'.
hhhmmm... like a wishing well thingy.
well, it's not that special as the one i saw previously but i did throw a coin in to wish for fortune for my family and myself.
hope my mum win more 4d this year!
the show is every 30 mins from 10pm to 2am.
my mum mentioned that when the show starts, all lights from the mall will be switched off.
frankly, i didn't noticed before but this time i did.
i went around the nearby sights after that.
here are some of the pictures.
macau tower and the 'friendship' bridge linking to taipa.
ever seen a sculpture of mother mary combined with guan yin goddess?
the ever famous mgm!
if you have a chance to come here to see the trademark lion of mgm, it was said to have closed its roaring mouth so as to avoid flowing out the wealth through its opened mouth.
i walked up close to see.
you can still see its open mouth but the depth of the mouth was covered/filled up.
following morning, i walked down to senado square, the city's shopping paradise.
when i was here, it's about a week to chinese new year so take a look at their cny decorations.
perhaps everywhere is almost the same as long as there's chinese people live.
day
night
the 1st church built in macau - st. dominic church
a must see attraction in macau:
ruins of st. paul's church
view down from the ruins.
the church architect own's self-sculpture engraved onto the stone (what a way to leave own's legacy).
what's left from the ruins of this church.
a small museum of the church artifacts.
only painting that survived today after the 3 attempts to burn down the church.
didn't specify what is for but i think is for placing the statue of mother mary.
where it lies the remains found beneath the ground.
it's the tomb of the priests and remains of those (mainly bones) who died during the fires.
out of respect for the dead, i didn't take any pictures while inside the crypt.
stones of the church which survived through the fires.
next destination - macau tower!
actually was somewhere else according to my own itinerary but by twist of fate, macau tower becomes my next stop.
under the big sparkling sun, cold winds breezing...
a combination of portuguese culture and macau-ese.
macau tower, here i come...
a closer look at the 'friendship bridge linking to taipa.
my humble lunch before conquering the tower .
ticket up to the tower.
between the ground to up where i'm standing is just a piece of glass.
life is so fragile.
couple of breath-taking sights.
highest bungee jump in asia.
in macau-ese interpretation: bun-g aka stupid pig (in cantonese)
some japanese tourist getting ready for his jump
they tie him up and wait for 15 mins, look into the camera and say 'cheese'.
not sure why but maybe waiting for the direction of wind or making sure the landing is safe.
this guy stood there for about 1 min and down he goes...
now you see him, next second... you don't.
that's it for macau tower.
and mind you, the wind is very strong and cold up there.
dinner time - my tummy rumbling...
delicious wanton noodle; you'll hardly be able to taste thatin s'pore.
**since i came back, i haven't yet want to taste the local wanton noodle.
now, you can't consider yourself to be in macau without tasting the macau portuguese egg tarts.
but don't be deceived as you see from the food stalls where everyone claims to sell the authentic egg tarts.
this store, in particular; hidden by the buildings of the streets sells the real authentic tasty portuguese egg tarts.
it's called the 'margaret's cafe nata'.
verdict: the egg tart is fantastic.
true as it claims...
last day in macau, it's taipa today.
what's popular at the other side of the island is the venetian hotel, just like wynns but still different.
it's like a little venice in asia.
ha! take the opportunity to have a feel of it too.
i took the boat ride and guess what.
the gondolar (who row the boat), he sings.
and sing pretty pretty well.
real human puppet show.
a 'live' rendition of teresa teng's 'yue liang dai biao wo de xin'.
here's the view of the venetian from the outside.
can see they are trying rreeeaallly hard to make it look like venice.
the casino building of the venetian.
see how grand it is.
for a moment, i thought i was in sistine chapel.
a last meal just before my flight back to s'pore.
this restaurant is called 3 monkeys which serves mexican, american, italian & asian cuisines.
what a hungry me!
rubbing my big round tummy, got to rush to macau airport.
just minutes before boarding...
hhhmmm... travelling around macau isn't very difficult.
as it's not a big city unless you want to go taipa or coloane, everywhere can be access by foot (if you don't mind walking).
however, you can board the free bus shuttle service from the hotels to whichever destination you want to go.
as hotels are almost everywhere so just make sure you know which hotel is near to where you want to be.
for me, i didn't spend on any transport except taking cab to & from the airport.
i walk and i take the free shuttle buses!
ha!
that's all folks.
till next time... or rather till the next trip.
