Right...

It's not about right or wrong.
It's about the right side of my body.
Maybe age really catches up on me, my body of the right side aches since almost a week already.
Eversince one morning I woke up lying on my right, my right shoulder and back has been in pain.
About 3 days ago, my right eye got infected with eye inflammation.
There are times, the swell blocks my vision that I can't see from my right eye.

Sigh! Nothing seems to go well with my pain.
I can't work well, can't sleep well, can't do anything smoothly as long as it will involves my right side.
Moreover, I'm a right-hander.
Even using my right hand to type now hurts.
And I'm using my left eye to focus more as my right eye is experiencing blurred vision.

Hope all the pain will go away soon!

Guest or Pest?

For the past year..., my house have this uninvited living thing who keeps coming every now and then.
Why do I post about it now is because I saw something which I never expect to see it lying somewhere so obvious in my house.
It was brought to my attention by my sister.
When I personally saw it, I can only sigh and shake my head.

How can it be so careless?
Or it finally decided to make this its permanent home that's why its like a 'normal' thing for it?
But still!
There was a time when it kinda' exposed itself in my house.
Not that I want to see but there are other people in my house too!
And subsequently because of it, our family is much more distant eversince it starts building its nest here.
Due to it, the family had some angry and loud moments too.

Looking back, a few of us haven't spoke to each other coming 6 months already.
Bringing this up now doesn't mean regrets but pity.
Ignorance to the presence has become part of my daily life.
I no longer put myself to care, just don't want to be bothered by it anymore.
My life has so much more than this thiny whiny creature.

To conclude:-
Guest - 0%
Pest - 101%

Leaving

Yesterday night, I had dinner with my mentor.
Could be considered as a 'farewell' dinner for her leaving the company and celebration for moving on to greener pastures.

I still remembered about 5 years ago when I met her at Takashimaya 4th floor just outside Post Office.
She wore a long brown dress carrying a haversack.
She said she is going back to the ex-company where we first know each other in 1998.
We kept in contact since that day though during the past years after we left the place respectively, she commented she never gets my replies whenever she emails me.
Well, I'm kinda' anti-social.

Since afterthat, everything just falls into place.
She recommends me back to the company and for the following 4-5 years, she never fails to give me words of wisdom.
I still remember her teachings and advice.
I learnt various things from her at work and in life.
I respect her alot.
And she has always supported me through my 2 progressive promotions and a transfer of depts in the company.
I'm grateful to her for what I am now at work.

She has now moved on to a new company, doing a job which requires her to travel alot.
I don't think it will be any difficulties for her to set in as she is a frequent traveller who likes to experience adventures in exotic and 3rd world countries.
I didn't ask her where she is going, what company she is working for and what will she be doing.
I do not wish to pry as I know she will tell me in due time.

I've said my last good bye to her this afternoon when she drops by the office.
I also did her last bag check and see her off the door.
As she said to me, she don't know when we will see each other again due to her travels but I know this time I will reply and send her emails.

Unpredictable...

Life is so full of unpredictability.
Something may be there one day but gone on the next day.
And the most scariest of all is... you don't, won't and will never know the reason why.
You can only speculate.

Two days ago, I received news that some people are not in business.
It's not some small fry as it requires the attention of highest level of personnel to settle it.
In my mind, I was like but I saw them a few days ago and now will never see them again.
Well, such things are better to be left undiscussed.

Maybe it's good and maybe it's not.
No matter what it is and however it may be, there are always pros and cons...ups and downs.
We can predict some things in life but there are also certain things you can never predict especially if it's yourself.

'To whom it may concern,
Good luck to wherever you are.
This past month has been a different experience working with you.'

Good bye Aunt!

Just went to send my aunt off to East Timor.
She will transfer from Bali to take a domestic flight there.
She's on a missionary-to spread the word of God.
This is not the first time my aunt is on a mission.
She went to Argentina for 10 years the previous time.
She will be back for CNY next year.

Hmm... just now at the airport, me and my sis is like some celebrity.
My aunt kept introducing us to her church friends and ex-colleagues.
I smiled till my face expression hardened already.
Not to mention photo taking!
Such a big group of people at some seating area busy taking photos.
At some point, I got bored and played with my 2 small cousins.

Well, see you next year aunt.
Good bye!

NC-16?/13 or 31?

I watched 'The Wanted' yesterday with my sister at GV Grand (Great World City).
We queued to get the tickets that were booked online.
The lady at the counter looked at the screen for about a couple of minutes and asked 'How old are the 2 of you?', 'The show is NC-16'.

I almost want to burst out in laughter.
It's so obvious my sister is over 16 years old - considering her height, build and prettiness.
My sister told the lady she's 22 years old and when the lady turned to look at me, I exclaimed 'I'm 31 years old'.
The lady gave us a 'Are you sure?' look!!!
At that moment, I almost want to show her our NRIC.
She took the tickets, circled 'NC-16' and signed her name on the tickets then passed it to us.
I giggled and giggled...

I told my sister, 'See, I can be passed off as a 13 years old rather than 31 years old.
She rolled her eyes and said 'The lady doesn't know how to judge people's age'.
Despite her cold answer, I smiled to myself as we walked away.
Just a little compliment to make myself delighted of my 'youthful' look.

Audit

I'm feeling good these couple of days at work.
Besides the same 'shit' everyday, I received a good news about my 2 departments.
Both my departments passed the monthly store audit.
I can't expressed how much audit is important for a company especially in Retail line
The stress to pass and the pressure from bosses to pass is you can never imagine.
So, every end of the month is like ants on top of a hot pot (please translate in Mandarin).
I have to make sure we pass every question in the Audit.

To show my appreciation for my staff who has been working hard to make sure we pass, I went to buy them each a box of milk chocolate from Marks & Spencer.
To keep them in suspense, I told them we'll be having a short meeting on Thursday.
After everyone gathered around, I passed them each a box of chocolate.
All looked at me with a 'huh' look, I looked at them sternly and said 'We passed the audit.'
Everyone burst out in relieved and laughter afterthat.
I thanked them for the effort and praised them for what a good job they have done to achieve such good marks.

For Periodicals Dept, we achieved 83%, though we failed one question which alones carries 17 marks but I hope we will achieve 100% next time.
As for Inventory Dept, once again we did 100%... for the 2nd time!
My boys were surprised as they were so busy during this period that they didn't even realised audit is over.
Some people wondered how we passed as before I took over, the 2 depts have been failing like nobody business.
I do take pride in my job.
So, I will do whatever it is to improve the departments and to take them up to higher standards.

Well-done! (Giving myself a pat on my back!)
